The irrelevant assertion is a tool of either a masterful leader, distracting a flock of easily distracted chuckleheads (a/k/a MAGAs), or an easily outwitted chucklehead (ibid), repeating their masterful leader, as they are unable to generate anything of substance pertaining to any of the issues at hand.
Any time spent combatting such a claim is pointless. I just wasted five minutes.
